Our Houses
Children from Year 1 onwards are allocated a House with siblings being placed together. There are three houses: Aldabra – Blue Tortoise, Desrosches – Yellow Parrot and Fregate – Green Shark and they compete academically and in competitive sport.
In Primary, the staff are not assigned to run a House as a House Captain and remain neutral. Instead, they have student House Captains to promote responsibility. In KS2, the House competition takes place during the school day on a Friday afternoon, after the Primary Assembly.
In Secondary, each house has a staff member assigned as a House Captain and they will lead a House meeting once a week from 7.55am – 8.20am.
The House competition for Secondary/Sixth Form takes place after school on a Friday. This is led by the PE Co-Ordinator and staff are encouraged to attend some of these when they can to support with the competitive atmosphere.
