SEN - Special Educational Needs

The Best way to predict your Future is to create it.

Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator -

Ms. Kathryn Cooper

Our vision for children with educational needs is the same as for all children and young people.

We aim to identify additional needs at the earliest opportunity to ensure children have access to learning. Working closely with the young people, parents or carers and class teachers will mean that the right support is offered both within the classroom and sometimes through additional interventions to help overcome barriers to learning.

We provide support for those with additional and/or special needs in a variety of ways such as:

• Teachers adapt work to meet the needs of all learners

• Small group withdrawal time (limited and carefully monitored to ensure curriculum entitlement is not compromised

• Individual withdrawal

• Bilingual support/access to materials in translation

• Further differentiation of resources.
